... from the Elizabeth Hall after seeing Josh's solo show tonight.
What can I say - it was awesome. Great atmosphere and superb performance.
Managed to pick up my copy of Bedroom Classics Vol 2 before doors opened and I'm glad I did as there was a huge queue afterwards.
The support act were pretty damn good too. Luke Doucet and Melissa ? (can't remember your name, darling, sorry - you were great though) with some rip-roaring electric blues.
Josh's set list was pretty diverse and he played plenty of his older stuff as well as numbers from the EP and the forthcoming album "Subtitulo". A real foot-stomping version of "It's the Nighttime" with Luke and Melissa and a fab singalong performance of "Love Vibration", along wih a selection of some of my personal favourites.
This was my first Josh Rouse gig and I had a great evening. It was lovely to see such a wide ranging demographic - everyone from people in their 50's to a little boy who couldn't have been more than about 8 were there enjoying themselves.
Was still singing on the train home and the first thing I did when I got in was to go online and buy Luke Doucet's album "Broken (and other rogue states)"
