I just discovered Josh Rouse yesterday. His track "Winter in the Hamptons" was on an UNCUT magazine best of 2005 compilation CD. I couldn't believe how moved I was. And-the strange thing was that I discovered exactly WHY I instantly loved him. He grew up idolizing the Cure and the Smiths. Lots of obvious connections there... I bought almost every album from itunes.

It's so easy to love Josh ;)

I actually found his work via a free magazine cd as well; Q featured him covering the Clash's 'Straight To Hell' a while ago and I fell in love with that.

I can hear a big British influence in his work. He's done some great covers of British bands; The Clash (as above), the Smiths (Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want), the Cure (A Forest) and the Kinks (A Well Respected Man).

Welcome to the gang. I managed to catch Josh live for the first time in London recently and it was brilliant. He's enormously talented and is far less famous than he ought to be.

His new album (Subtitulo) is out in March, so keep an eye out for it :o)

Been into Josh for a couple of years now and managed to see him in Manchester last year.

Hopefully there will be a tour to follow the new album.
